FAIRY TALE SERIES

This program was formed in 1999 and brings preschool through 4th grade students to the Arts. These audience participation fairytales were designed to introduce children to the world of theatre. The fairytales are not only entertaining, but they also teach social messages, such as “don’t go with strangers”, “don’t smoke”, “don’t drink”, “respect your parents”, etc. By allowing children to physically participate in the production up on stage, self-esteem and creativity are encouraged.

VOCAL TALENT COMPETITION

Rising Star Event is an amateur Vocal Competition for ages 13 and older. It was established in 2007 as an annual fundraiser for The North Canton Playhouse Center For The Performing Arts in North Canton, Ohio.

The debut of Rising Star was held February 3-18, 2007. The event consists of three rounds, Preliminary, Semi-Finals and our Gala Event Finals. Over 50 contestants from as far as Florida and Pennsylvania entered our first competition. The Gala Event Finals was a spectacular evening complete with an elegant hor doeurve reception and Celebrity Guest Judge. For it's inception, Scott Savol, American Idol Season 4 Top 5 Finalist judged our finalists and also performed. The first winner of the title was Melissa Day, a North Canton, Ohio resident. The Gala Event Finals spectacular, complete with reception and Celebrity Guest Judge, will be planned for each year to follow. Visit the website at: www.RisingStarEvent.com

 

The North Canton Playhouse has entertained audiences for years with a variety of audience participation Murder Mysteries. It also began a successful five year run with audience participation plays such as, “Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding” and “Happy Anniversary, Angel! Love Gino.” These shows received media acclaim in the Northeastern Ohio area and sold out 95% of the shows runs. Let us entertain you at your next club, group, business, corporate or social events with entertainment for all ages to enjoy!

This program explores our past through dramatic presentations designed to enhance and augment school curriculum in the areas of history and the social and cultural development of our community. We offer daytime school field trips for 1st through 12th grade throughout the year.

This program provides opportunities for Girl Scouts to develop proficiency in all the elements of theatrical arts.

In 1984, a theatre relationship between Walsh University Genesis Players and NCP began. The University now performs it’s two theatrical productions at the North Canton Playhouse. For your added entertainment, you can enjoy the Genesis Players fine performances at our theatre!
