Meet the Cast!

Natalie Affolter is a recent Jackson High School graduate and an incoming member of the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University where she will be studying sociology on a pre-law track! You may have seen her in other North Canton Playhouse productions such as Mamma Mia! and Hadestown Teen Edition or in the JSA productions of Newsies, Mary Poppins and The Phantom of the Opera. She would like to thank the amazing directing staff as well as her stash of Alani energy drinks for their immense support throughout this heartwarming and incredibly relevant production!

Nevaeh is excited to be back in Newsies for the third time—because apparently she just can’t stay away from the newsboys! Some of her recent credits include Susan Waverly in White Christmas at CCP, Princess Fiona in Shrek, Katherine in Newsies, and the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at GlenOak High School. She is incredibly grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank the entire production team and cast for making this such a fun, welcoming, and memorable summer. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Jacob Belmont is currently a 10th grader in high school, he enjoys theatre very much and finds it an honor to be in NCP’s production of Newsies, Jacob does musicals at Barberton also, you may recognize him as Naphtali from Joseph and the amazing technicolor

Allie Dietrich (JoJo) - Allie is delighted to be cast as JoJo. Previously, Allie has been in Wizard of Oz (Hoover High School, Ensemble), Beetlejuice Jr (North Canton Playhouse, Delia), Mamma Mia (NCPH, Ensemble), Freaky Friday Jr (Hoover High School, Ensemble), Hadestown Teen Edition (NCPH, Ensemble), Footloose (Canton Theatre Kids, Vi Moore), Beauty & The Beast, Jr. (St Paul School, Belle), Aladdin, Jr (St Paul School, Genie), Peter Pan, Jr (St Paul School, Michael Darling - in flight), Alice in Wonderland, Jr (Small Alice), and many, many more community productions. Allie is a proud member of Hoover High School Vocal Music program, including Chorale & Hi-Notes. Additionally, she has traveled to and competed in the National Performing Arts Festival in Orlando, Florida, with a local Broadway Bound Theater Group, earning an Excellent Distinction. Outside of the theater, Allie takes singing lessons and loves to hang out with friends and family. Allie would like to thank her family for their support and encouraging her in her theater passion.

Dominic Gemma is the baseball announcer for the Hoover High School Baseball team and a cantor at Little Flower Parish. This is his first theater production in five years, and is excited to be doing this again! In between singing and working at his job at Fastenal, he enjoys learning about history, watching NASCAR races, and spending time with friends. He would like to thank his family and music teachers he has had for all the support they have given him throughout the years.

Ashton is thrilled to make his debut at North Canton Playhouse in Newsies. Some of his biggest acting accomplishments include: Bob Cratchit, Christmas Carol (MU) and participating in an original show created alongside broadway accompianists and writers, Signals (MU). He will be recording a studio album for Signals later this year alongside his Signals castmates. Ashton is a biology and theatre double major with a minor in chemistry at Mount Union and has many avenues to pursue in his future!

Caleb is so excited to be making his debut at NCP! He is entering his senior year at Barberton High School. You may have seen him as Charlie Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at BHS, or as Olaf in Frozen Jr at Barberton Middle School. He would like to thank everyone involved with putting this show together, and especially his parents for always getting him where he needs to be.

Aubrey is thrilled to play Ike in Newsies! This is her first show with NCP. She participated in both cast (May We All) and crew (Puffs, A Charlie Brown Christmas) through the Perry High School theater department! Alongside theater, she also danced competitively for 14 years, which is where she found her love for tap! She currently attends Ohio University with a major in Media Arts Production, as well as a minor in Film. She would like to thank her parents for their unwavering support, and to her friends for encouraging her to audition.

This is Garrett’s second show at the NCP. Last summer he played Bill in “Mamma Mia!”. In high school he played Nigel Bottom in “Something Rotten”, Sammy in “The Wedding Singer”, and Warner Huntington III in “Legally Blonde”. Garrett attends Youngstown State University where he majors in Exercise Science and is a member of the track team. Brendan Lewis is playing Morris Delancy in Newsies. In the past he’s played Mike Teavee in Charlie in the Chocolate Factory and was a part of the Ensemble in The Sound of Music. He is a Junior at BHS and participates in Show Choir. In his free time he likes to do musicals and sing. He would like to shout out all his friends and family for being with him during this musical. Remember to always “Seize the day”.

Brock McQuain is going into his senior year at Mogadore High School where he is part of the Green Door Theatre Company. This is Brocks second time in Newsies and he is so excited for everyone to see the show. You may have seen Brock on the NCP stage last fall in Beetlejuice Jr. where he played Charles Deetz. Past roles include Jack Kelly (Newsies), Jack (Into the Woods), and Ryan Evans (High School Musical Jr.).

Karli is thrilled to be making her North Canton Playhouse debut! Favorite past credits include Delta Nu in Legally Blonde, Sandy in Grease, Natalie in All Shook Up, and Linda in The Wedding Singer. She's loved making theatre a bigger part of her life recently by taking dance classes, vocal lessons, and jumping into new productions whenever she can. When she's not at rehearsal, you can usually find her curled up with a good book, on her yoga mat, or convincing herself she definitely has time to squeeze in one more musical. Karli is incredibly grateful to her family and friends for their constant love, encouragement, and unwavering support. Thanks for being here, and enjoy the show!

LaRon Nicholson is a 19 year old aspiring performer furthering his education at Kent State University with their BFA Musical Theatre program. A few of his favorite shows he’s been in are, High School Musical, Footloose, and Cinderella. He would like to thank his family and friends for their constant love and support, and is so grateful to be sharing the stage with such a wonderful cast and crew.

Andy Reynolds is stoked to be playing Specs! His latest performance was the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz at Hoover Highschool. Andy would like to thank his parents, siblings, and grandma for always showing up and supporting him at his shows. He hopes you enjoy this production of Newsies!!!

Sophie Samples is thrilled to be a part of Newsies as a Bowery Beauty! Sophie is currently studying Business Administration at the University of Akron and is excited to be taking the stage after previously working on the tech crews for North Canton Playhouse’s productions of Mamma Mia! and Beetlejuice Jr. She would like to thank her family, friends, and the cast and crew for their hard work and hopes you enjoy the show!

Emma Schenck is very excited to play Mush in NCP’s production of Newsies! She is a Sophomore at Bowling Green State University. She was recently Sophie in Mamma Mia, Savannah in Freaky Friday, and Eurydice in Hadestown! She would like to thank her brother Ian, her parents Melinda and Steve, and her friends for all of their love and support through the years!!

Ian is beyond excited to play Albert in Newsies at NCP! He has been heavily involved in both theater and choir at NCP and Hoover Hall for over 5 years now, most recently playing The Wizard in The Wizard of Oz, and Adam Maitland in Beetlejuice Jr. Outside of theater, Ian is passionate about Architecture and plans to study it further as a future career. He would like to give a shoutout to all the directors and teachers who have supported him through his acting experience since the beginning!

Abby Sullivan (ensemble) is 20 years old and a junior at Kent State University where she studies Early Childhood Education. Abby has been performing at The North Canton Playhouse for 8 years. Some of her favorite shows have been Matilda, Hadestown, and Mamma Mia. Abby has loved the opportunity to get to perform in Newsies!

Elle is thrilled to be in the NCP 2026 production of Newsies! This is her tenth year at the Playhouse, and she has performed in many shows, as well as worked behind the scenes. Some of her favorite shows include Alice Through the Looking Glass, where she performed as Alice, Beauty and the Beast, as Belle, and most recently she was Emily in Elf! She is so grateful to everyone who has supported her along the way and can’t wait to keep making amazing memories!

Vallon is so excited to play Buttons in Newsies! This is her fifth show at NCP and you may have seen her last summer as Tanya in Mamma Mia! A few of her other credits include Hadestown (Worker), Legally Blonde (Chutney/Gaelen), A Charlie Brown Christmas (Lucy Van Pelt), and Puffs (Sally Perks/Others). This is also her second show performing alongside her dad! She attends Kent State University with a major in Theatre Studies and minors in Dance and Digital Media Production. She wants to thank her family and friends for all their support over the years! She hopes you enjoy the show!

Vance is delighted (for the second time) to be sharing the stage with his daughter, Vallon, and once again playing the villain. When not performing on stage, he spends his time writing screenplays, novels, and lyrics for songs. Kelton was most recently Pharaoh/Dan in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Jerry Jubliee in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Barberton High School. He is currently playing Darcy/Scab 1 in Newsies. He is an up coming freshman class of 2030 at Akron University studying music and political science. Kelton enjoys playing with his dog Tucker and singing when he isn’t a bank teller at New Horizon FCU.

Rachel is so excited to be in her second NCP show! She has fallen in love with this place and the people here. After graduating from Cleveland State University, Rachel hopes to start her career in wildlife conservation. She would like to thank her parents and friends for always supporting her.
